Community Development, BA Career Paths
Community development empowers people to sustainably revitalize their communities by equipping them with the necessary skills, knowledge, tools, and resources to overcome historic disparities including issues of environmental and climate justice.
Community development graduates work in a breadth of areas, including workforce development, economic development, community planning, and urban health planning. As partners and advocates these professionals are employed by nonprofit organizations, government, corporations, social enterprises, and financial institutions. Bringing together issues of social and environmental justice our community development alumni work on complex issues of environmental justice and inequity to support urban low-income communities and empower positive change that brings prosperity, health and well-being to all.
Community development students are well positioned to pursue advanced degrees in urban planning, social work, business, and more.
